  • Dear Developer, Hello and thank you for reaching out to DJI Innovations. Yes, after the MSDK v5.8 version, the video format obtained is always H.264, and all frames evenly contain I-frames. It's not possible to set it to the H.265 format. The reason is that H.264 is more widely compatible with hardware decoding. In previous versions of MSDK, the H.265 video stream was directly pushed by the camera, which had the problem of missing I-frames. We hope that our solution meets your needs satisfactorily. We appreciate your email and wish you a wonderful day! Best Regards, DJI Innovations SDK Technical Support Team

Thank you for your quick response, may I ask if the H.264 stream is also pushed directly by the camera or is it transcoded from H.265 to H.264 on the RC side?

  • Dear Developer, I hope this email finds you well The MSDK directly receives H.264 data from the aircraft instead of encoding it locally on the RC. We appreciate your email and wish you a wonderful day! Best Regards, DJI Innovations SDK Technical Support Team
