- Before firmware V02.02.01.02, for DJI Pilot, the altitude shown in camera view and FPV view for aircraft and RNG spot is using ellipsoidal height.
- After firmware V02.02.01.02, for DJI Pilot, the altitude shown in camera view and FPV view for aircraft and RNG spot is using EGM96 model absolute height as ASL.
- No matter the aircraft is using GPS or RTK for navigation, the flight controller always using ellipsoidal height. Just after the change of firmware, the “ASL” shown in app side is calculated to EGM96 height.
- Since MSDK is reading directly from firmware, the altitude is still ellipsoidal height. Therefore, it is different with the altitude shown on DJI Pilot.
- Theoretically, M300's camera also captures the photos with ellipsoidal height recorded.
Why the altitude from MSDK is different from DJI Pilot?
