The head has three rotation modes, namely Free, Yaw_Follow and FPV. Only the aircraft supporting Free mode can turn the head alone, the other modes are to change the Yaw axis of the aircraft to achieve the Yaw axis rotation of the head.
Here is how the gimbal performs in different states and rotation modes of the aircraft.
